Distribute plugin via WordPress.org repository #1328

Hi all!
This looks like a great plugin! Super interested to give it a try. Just setting it up now.
Is there a reason behind not distributing the plugin via the WordPress.org repository? Floated the idea to a few people and there's trust issues with things that come from a GitHub repository instead of something vetted via WordPress.org's plugin repository.
