How to aviod the generation of kpi.jtl?

Assuming you have already figured this out by now but for anyone else that comes here, its done via the modifications block within the scenarios element of the Taurus yml file.

scenarios:
  MyScenario:
    script: DemoApplication.jmx
    modifications:
      disable:
      - KPI Writer
      - Errors Writer
