Open access values verification

under "Open access field" I placed a list of records which have 536__r filled with "Open access". Could you verify if these records need to be marked with open access?

I understood that open access is marked only when we somehow funded the article to provide open access, but if you see for example https://cds.cern.ch/record/198352 is this really the case?
I am asking to understand how many of these values are correct and if having open access field is blocking for the migration of the IT collection.

Hi @kpsherva could you please let us know if, not only for Yellow Reports (but in general in CDS), if all the ones that have a 536, have also a 540 with a subfield $3 'publication'?

I am not entirely sure if this is what you are asking, but if you see here

these are the records which have a value in 536__r and no 540__3:"publication" value present

@sara is doing the curation. When done, we can probably ignore the 536__r:"Open Access" We will confirm when we have finished.

We current use the metadata in CDS (540__f) to monitor the compliance of the CERN Publications with OA policy.
We look at:

• the license $$a
• the funder of the OA: $$f
• the mechanism used: also in $$f (For the time being we don't split funder and mechanism)

The current values we use are:

• Bronze (Value used when an article is "open" but with no clear license associated)
• Collective
• CERN-RP*
• CERN-APC*
• Other*
• SCOAP3

We then display the corresponding statistics by year in the dashboard:
