Overhaul Report A Goose #1590
Description
In ITP Onboarding Sprint 3 there is prep/backlog work work using Record A Goose
There are a number of problems with this at the moment:
- The codebase is old and can't be easily deployed, e.g. it uses deprecated libraries, its build process depends on having a python2 installed, etc. A trainee recently asked how they can deploy locally to preview their changes, and there was no good answer.
- It's currently hosted on Render which is really slow to wake up the first time you load the page (see Host Report A Goose somewhere faster #948).
- We recommend using WAVE, which doesn't work for file:// URLs (or possibly even on localhost)
We should overhaul this so that we have a modern, useful, deployable application which can easily be modified and tested out.
