Advantages of chef over cloud formation templates

Can you provide me with the list of advantages of deploying ArcGIS Enterprise through Chef in comparison to cloud formation templates?

Here are a few:

• With Chef you bring your own infrastructure.
• With Chef there is more customization, flexibility, and control. For example, additional attributes and settings can be defined:
  • arcgis.server.system_properties
    • https://developers.arcgis.com/rest/enterprise-administration/server/serverproperties/
  • arcgis.portal.system_properties
    • https://developers.arcgis.com/rest/enterprise-administration/portal/update-system-properties/
  • Setting Log Level
    • arcgis.server.log_level
    • arcgis.portal.log_level
  • Importing of SSL certificates
• Chef provides the ability to download/install arcgis patches
• Chef provides the ability to perform WebGISDR Export/Import
• With Chef you can essentially have any combination of ArcGIS Enterprise components installed across the environment. For example, you can customize it to have portal and datastore on the same machine, with server and web adaptors on another. With CloudFormation there aren't as many possible combinations.
