VMD not working with desktop intel core ultra 2 series (arrow lake) platforms

When booting into FOS with a desktop computer (a laptop with the laptop version of the series worked fine) with a core ultra 2 series cpu, with VMD enabled in the bios, will not detect the disk.

If VMD is enabled in the bios on this latest chipset, the disk is not seen by fos.
The Dell all in one that I first found the problem on provides an ubuntu image from dell. When I boot to that installer or install from it, it does see it.
Then I just got a different HP computer with that new intel core ultra 2 chipset, and it has the same problem, with VMD enabled fos can't find the hard drive.
But I at least have evidence that linux can see the disk with VMD enabled. It was using linux-6.11.0-1037 I haven't tried matching to that version yet. I was gonna give up on it thinking it would just be the 3 dell all in ones but now it looks like anything with this latest chipset going forward will have the issue

Dell Pro 24 All-in-One QC24250

I am working on locally compiling a kernel that works and will then see if I can narrow down what config change fixes it.
