Future: possibly switch to a forked matterbridge #114
Description
matterbridge seems somewhat unmaintained with open PRS that are at least a year old still in the repo and issues starting to happen that affect the FOSSRIT bridges.
these issues include:
- no support for authenticated images in matrix, a now-required part of the protocol (issue 2184 on their repo)
- no support for messages sent with discords "forward" feature (issue 2202 in their repo)
- no support for modern slack applications (2159)
we should be on the lookout for solid contenders for forks that fix these issues, or maybe create our own
