Hey, I was wondering whether the hardware in this cat tracker supports precise motion tracking (like gyroscope, displacement)? If so, there might be a perfect opportunity to produce an open source version of CatLog. I think cat tracking is awesome but only if you have a cat that goes (or is allowed to go) outside; cat behaviour tracking would open this product up to essentially every cat owner.
From my understanding, it's just logging data about the cats position, and with enough training data it can probably tell quite accurately what the cat is doing (sleeping, chilling, walking around, eating, etc)
Sorry if this question seems out of left field, but I'd be interested in contributing if this were something this project was also interested in pursuing. Users could also crowd source training and validation data by having the cat wear the tag whilst also recording its actions by video camera, which could be cleaned up into labelled training data.
