This solves the problem for me on 1.12, thanks!
But it seems to cause test failures on 1.10... approved assuming these can be fixed
inferred: Error During Test at /home/runner/work/Functors.jl/Functors.jl/test/cache.jl:1
Got exception outside of a @test
