Thanx. I've checked this link before posting. My Question: isnt´t there a way to make Shortcuts work globally e.g. even when the active window is Obsidian - i want to rewind, forward with a shortcut without leaving Obsidian etc. Did a little more digging around: MPRIS ((Media Player Remote Interfacing Specification) is a standard D-Bus interface which aims to provide a common programmatic API for controlling media players) - in conjunction with playerctl (command line tool for MPRIS) - should be able to do the trick. Electron should have MPRIS support built in. So Freetube should have MPRIS support as well? But although I installed the .deb version of freetube (v0.23.15 Beta) it's not showing up on playerctl. (at the moment in a wayland session in KDE Ubuntu Studio 24.04. LTS) |

FreeTube does support MPRIS, you need to be actively playing something and it will show up as chromium or electron IIRC. |

Hey there,
as I am frequently watching videos and talks on youtube and simultaneous making notes in Obsidian -
I am looking for a way to have Global keyboards shortcuts.
Especially for rewind, Play/Pause and Forward.
BTW: The internal Shortcut "J" for rewind seems to be fixed to 10 Sec. It does not react to changes in player settings (where one can specify intervals for fast forward and rewind.
