advice on using this without react?

From looking at the code it seems like react is required, and that it cannot be compiled as a UMD module right now.

Is there a way to use it without react? Happy to fork it and muck around. I'm just not familiar with what I'd need to take out/supplement. Thanks

+1 I'm attempting to do the same to get the package to build for vanilla JS workflows. Works great with React.
