Creative Mode Menu Bug

Describe the bug

Whenever i do .gamemode creative, it does take me into creative mode, but then any item i pull out of creative mode disappears when i try to use/place it, or just doesnt work. please fix this. this would be a huge improvement.

Steps to reproduce

1. do .gamemode creative
2. take a block
3. attempt to place it

1.21.8
