Printing global variables in C output

Given a binary, I would like to print all global variables to a C file.

I wrote the following code which almost does the work, except, I cannot seem to print pointers properly.

		String symbolName = symbol.getName();
		if (symbolName.contains(".") || symbolName.contains("-")) {
			return res;
		}
		SymbolType symbolType = symbol.getSymbolType();
		if (symbolType == SymbolType.LABEL) {
			Address address = symbol.getAddress();
			Data data = program.getListing().getDataAt(address);
			if (data != null) {
				DataType type = data.getDataType();
				String typeName = type.getName();
				if (typeName.contains(".") || typeName.contains("-")) {
					return res;
				}
				if (type instanceof Array) {
					int length = ((Array) type).getNumElements();
					typeName = typeName.replaceAll("\\[\\d+\\]$", "");
					DataType subType = ((Array) type).getDataType();
					String subTypeName = subType.getName();
					res = typeName + " " + symbolName + "[" + length + "];";

					DataType pointedType = ((Pointer) type).getDataType();
					if (pointedType != null) {

When looking at the output, I get the following code.

pointer * malloc_func;
pointer * malloc_ex_func;
pointer * realloc_func;
pointer * realloc_ex_func;

pointer * malloc_locked_ex_func;
pointer * free_locked_func;

Can anyone guide in the right direction? Also, is there already an option to print this global variables? I haven't found any. Thanks in advance.
