OLA 3 USB zu RS485 mit ein und derselben Seriennummer

Wie bekomme ich meine 3 Module mit der ein und der selben Seriennummer in OLA ans laufen. Versuche dies seit mehreren tagen und bis jetzt kein Erfolg. Könnte mir da bitte mal jemand helfen. Vilenen Dank

Unfortunately you generally can't, if they've got the same serial number, OLA can't tell them apart, so the DMX outputs would change each time you replugged them or restarted OLA.

Which devices are they? And why do they have the same serial number? Something FTDI based? You may be able to programme unique ones in as mentioned here:

Tja genau da liegt ja mein Problem. Ich kann die Seriennummer nicht ändern und sonst auch nichts anderes an den CHips. Viele haben mir gesagt das wären Clone-CHips und keine Original FTDI-Chips. Ich habe gehofft das es vieleicht ein Patch gibt wo man die Module über USB-Port oder so eibinden kann. Die Chips würden ja festverbaut sein so das man da nichts umstecken kann. Gibt es da eine möglichkeit.

What brand/model are the modules though, which plugin are you using within OLA and what version of OLA are you running? What operating system are you on (Linux/Mac/Windows)? There may possibly be some workarounds...

Hmm, I think you may struggle, the only thing that might work would be trying the dmx_usb kernel module and see if that works.

Otherwise one of each might work, if you can do some udev magic to get different drivers to load on each, but that only gets you to two. It may be that the dmx_usb kernel module will load them all, with different /dev/dmx paths regardless of serial numbers.

Or just save your money and buy a few ones with unique serials for not much money each...

Or you might be able to tweak our FTDI based code, does it actually return the correct count here:
