[Feature request]: Fetch puppet environment from script

Use Case

My puppet environment is set based on some system facts/information. Rather than requiring two puppet runs to get the right environment, gathering it directly from another tool would be nice.

Describe the solution you would like

I'd like to set my puppet environment to match the output of hostnamectl deployment but a systemd specific mode feels overly burdensome. So perhaps a mode where a script is run and it is my job to generate the script for my systems.

Describe alternatives you've considered

Multiple puppet runs where production is just a super boring environment that actually fixes up the host.

Isn't that what an ENC is for? It's executed from the openvox server, but it receives all facts. So if you've a fact from hostnamectl, the ENC can set that as environment.

I thought ENC provided environments are mandatory, ie no puppet agent -t --environment=my_test_env. Before merging my config changes I like to test them out in a dedicated branch to be sure nothing weird happens.

yes the ENC provided one is mandatory. But the ENC can just return whatever you have in your facts
