Use a Project as a Part inside another Project BOM

I have a "base" Project used in several other Projects.
I want to use this base project as a Part inside the other Projects.
How can I do this?

Hi LuanVorle,
I think you should move this to Discussions because this is not a bug or a enhancement proposal for Part-DB. And please close this issue.

But let me try to help you anyways:
In the project view you can create a build of the project (I sort all my builds into a category called PCBA (I also have a PCB category with the unassembled raw PCBs). If you have already a project defined you can edit this project and associate the build instance of the project (which is a part itself with the tag "project-build") here:

This will open the new part page and will allow you to create a new part which is the project-build instance of the project. You can see this in the extended info of the created part.

After saving the new part you can go back to the Projects page and should now see that the part is associated with the project.

Now I add all PCBA parts, case and other mechanic parts and cables to the BOM of my device project.
I know this is not a very precise description but maybe it guides you into the right direction.

I would agree to leave this issue as an open issue if you rephrase it and say that the project feature has to be better documented.

I'd like to introduce you to an already implemented feature of Assemblies, which has already been developed and submitted as a pull request.

This feature doesn't require any workarounds via build parts, and the BOM configuration can reference other assemblies with corresponding quantities.

I think this could be a useful feature for you as well? If so, please leave a comment in #1082.
