How should we collect VictoriaMetrics' own metrics when the prometheusreceiver in otel does not support the vmrange label of Histograms?

We are currently using the prometheusreceiver in otel-collector to collect metrics from various components. However, VictoriaMetrics' own Histogram metrics do not have the 'le' label and only have the 'vmrange' label. At the same time, the prometheusreceiver only supports the 'le' label.

While this may work for other applications, using PrometheusHistogram instead of the VM implementation won’t work for VictoriaMetrics products. It would require adding conditional logic for which type of histogram to use in each case, increasing complexity. Moreover, it would make the official dashboards useless in the histograms part (or force us to maintain duplicate dashboards with different hist types).

The better approach is for Prometheus itself to support VM histograms, as suggested in #10 (comment).
