Feature Request: Add Pause & Resume Support for Running Syncs

Summary

Introduce the ability to pause an ongoing sync and resume it later without restarting from the beginning.

Motivation / Use Case

Many Airbyte users operate in environments where:

• Long-running syncs compete with operational workloads
• Database load windows are restricted
• High-volume sources require syncs to be spread across time slots

Without pause/resume, users must cancel a sync—losing all progress—and restart later, increasing load and cost.
Pause/resume would allow more efficient resource management, especially for large tables and low-bandwidth environments.

Proposed Behavior

• User can click Pause during a sync
• Airbyte persists the current state
• A subsequent Resume starts from that saved point

Community Benefit

• Reduces compute and API load across many connectors
• Helps teams with strict maintenance windows
• Improves Airbyte adoption in enterprise environments with high data volumes
