Description
In cases of a handheld panorama, parallax is almost unavoidable.
Parallax used to make photogrammetry models. But, it's also undesirable in current State of the Art panorama stitching software.
This software does both photogrammetry and panorama.
Thus, why not merge the two and recompose the panorama from both ? Do photogrammetry for near objects, making a 3D model, and build a photosphere at the same time. The near objects could then be reprojected on the photosphere.
I have tried running the panorama with photogrammetry based SfM data, while it does find a lot of far points and finds the relative movement of the cameras, the code doesn't seem to support it yet.
