GitHub Issues as a Discussion forum experiment

Hey mate, I just saw your post about it and I kinda agree with it.

Specially with tools such as Ost.io that turns Issues into a forum-like interface.

I just wish I could find more tools like it

I just started doing the same with @Hackerfleet - our discussion repository. Hope this works as expected and github never goes down ;D

Ost.io seems to be missing the whole tagging thing which i personally really like. It's like having subforums by sorting via tags.. oh and you get users to sign up for github by telling them: oh, thats the way you join our beta programme 👍

i just realized after testing a bit - they keep discussions completely separate from github's issue tracker. Why?! I don't reeeeally get the point, except Ost.io looking more forum like (less non-forum tools like labels, milestones etc..)

I also like the idea... if it wouldn't called "issues" but Forum... github would be more user friendly

There's ways to grab and modify github pages. E.g. githubel.com which renames github to githubel (c-base measurement for "one has/opens too many projects")
