Video via HDMI 🎞️✮⋆˙

To play a video ˙✧˖°🎬 ⋆｡˚on your HDMI-connected screen:

1. Connect to your Linux Box via SSH. (This lets you control the box remotely from another computer -> ssh root@tvbox)
2. Download the video file to your Linux Box. (You can use wget or curl for this, for example: wget https://example.com/your_video.mp4)
3. Play the video using a command like omxplayer or mpv. (For example, mplayer your_video.mp4 or ffplay your_video.mp4)
   Once you execute the play command, the video will be displayed on the monitor or TV connected to the Linux Box via HDMI.

For example you can execute this commands:

apt install -y wget mplayer
wget https://download.blender.org/peach/bigbuckbunny_movies/BigBuckBunny_640x360.m4v
mplayer BigBuckBunny_640x360.m4v

and you will see on monitor/tv

Nice. If you use ffplay -vcodec h264_v4l2m2m someh264video.mkv it would als use the hardware video decoder.

With v4l2-ctl --list-formats-out -d 0 you can see which video decoders are supported.
