When did the wallet go live to users?
Year 2018
What are the fees users may be paying for using your wallet product?
Basic usage (standard personal wallets) is completely free. Advanced features such as cold wallet and multisig require a subscription (Ownbit Premium), with annual membership tiers (Lv1–Lv3) instead of per-transaction fees.
Does the wallet have an active development team?
Yes. Github: https://github.com/bitbill
Is the wallet globally accessible?
Yes, globally accessible and no KYC needed currently.
Is the wallet available in multiple languages?
English / Simplified Chinese / Traditional Chinese / Japanese / Korean / Russian / Spanish / German / French / Portuguese / Italian / Indonesian / Turkish / Thai / Vietnamese / Filipino

Twitter:https://twitter.com/OwnbitWallet
Does the wallet have a mobile app? If yes, which operating systems are supported (iOS, Android)?
iOS: https://apps.apple.com/app/id1321798216
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bitbill.www
Does the wallet have a desktop app? If yes, which operating systems are supported (Windows, Mac, Linux)?
No.
Does the wallet have a browser extension? If yes, which browsers are supported (Chromium, Firefox, Safari)?
No.
Is it a hardware wallet?
No, Ownbit is not a traditional hardware wallet. It provides cold wallet functionality by using two mobile devices: one kept fully offline and one online. Transactions are signed on the offline device and broadcast by the online device via QR code scanning, offering security comparable to hardware wallets.
What is the availability of your source code?
Closed source
What license is the wallet software released under?
MIT
Who holds the private keys?
Users hold their private keys entirely, and back them up via a mnemonic phrase. Addresses are generated according to BIP39 and BIP44 standards, so funds remain accessible even without the app. For Ethereum multisig, Ownbit uses open-sourced smart contracts published on Etherscan.
Please describe the measures taken to ensure the wallet's security and provide documentation wherever possible
Multisig security: Ownbit’s Ethereum multisig contracts are open-sourced at GitHub
. They have been in continuous production use for over 5 years, securing tens of millions of USD in assets. While they have not undergone a formal third-party audit, the contracts are publicly available, reviewed by external developers, and even reused by other projects.
Cold wallet security: Ownbit offers a mobile-based cold wallet mode using two devices (one kept permanently offline). This design ensures private keys never touch the internet. We have published detailed documentation explaining and demonstrating its security model: Ownbit Cold Wallet Security
.
Bug bounty / external review: While we do not yet run a formal bug bounty, we encourage public review of our open-source contracts and security documentation, and welcome responsible disclosure.
Has the wallet's smart contract code or security modules been audited?
Not formally audited by a third-party company, but the multisig contracts are open source and have been referenced and used by multiple teams and users. GitHub: ownbit-multisig-contracts .
Does the wallet have an internal security team?
We do not have a dedicated internal security team. However, Ownbit is built and maintained by a small, highly experienced group of developers who have been building Bitcoin and Ethereum wallets since 2013.
Any other security testing that should be noted?
Our approach emphasizes transparency and user-verifiable security. We encourage users with technical backgrounds to review and validate our design, particularly the cold wallet mode where private keys never touch the internet. Documentation: Cold Wallet Security
.
Scam protection?
Yes. Ownbit focuses on user safety. When interacting with DApps, the wallet implements logic to warn users about potential risks and performs basic checks to help protect against common scams. For example, Ownbit includes filters to block known phishing addresses and provides alerts to help users avoid interacting with malicious contracts.
Does the wallet support connecting to Ethereum applications?
es. Ownbit supports WalletConnect for connecting to Ethereum applications.
Does the wallet support connecting to a hardware wallet?

Which Ethereum Layer 2 networks does the wallet support?
Optimism, Arbitrum, BASE

Does the wallet support sending transactions to ENS addresses?
Yes. ENS is supported.
Does the wallet support importing or automatically querying and displaying ERC-20 tokens?

Does the wallet support EIP-1559 (type 2) transactions?
Yes, type 2 transactions by default.
Does the wallet have any recovery options?
Yes. Users can self-recover all assets by importing their mnemonic phrase into any BIP39-compatible wallet (e.g. Trust Wallet, imToken).
For multisig assets, since the contracts are open source, users can simulate and call the smart contract directly to transfer assets. Detailed recovery instructions are also available in the app (Homepage → top-left Help → “How to self-recover MultiSig assets”).
