[Bug]: main branch is still "1.16"

Describe the issue

Why main branch (the current github default branch) is not in version 1.17 (or next 1.18) ?

i.e. 52eb810 this patch should be applied asap or set version to 1.18.0

Steps to reproduce the problem

git clone then cmake configure and build and you'll get a googletest tagged as 1.16....
