keymap for "insert literally" or keymap to insert while ignoring auto-pair

auto-pairing brackets and quotes is a useful feature to me.
however it often happens that I want to type an opening bracket/quote and not have it auto-pair (otherwise I then have to manually "clean up" this auto-inserted character)
neovim has a keybinding to "insert literally", normally bound to CTRL-V, which does this.
does Helix have something like this, and if not, can we add this feature?
