iOS device model, version and app version
Model name: iPhone 17 Pro
Software Version: both iOS 26.0 + iOS 26.0.1

Model name: iPad Pro (12,9 inch) (5th generation)
Software Version: both iOS 26.0 + 26.0.1
App version 2025.9.3 (2025.1423)

Model name: MacBook Pro (14", Apple M4 Pro, nov 2024)
Software Version: 26.0.1 (25A362)
App version 2025.7.2 (2025.1356)

Home Assistant Core Version
2025.10.0

Describe the bug
When trying to create a shortcut in the iOS Shortcuts app, selecting "Call service" (Service aanroepen in Dutch) and clicking on 'service' to change this to the right variable (in this case, script.turn_on or automation.trigger, though it doesn't make it far enough to be able to write or select those), it loads a long time until it says "an unknown error has occurred" (see screenshot)

To Reproduce

  • Open iOS shortcuts app
  • Create new shortcut
  • Select "call service" from the Home Assistant Companion app options
  • Click on 'service'

Expected behavior
The ability to fill out the correct variable

Additional context
Bug persists in both new and existing shortcuts (with either new and already existing 'call service' options, so changing an old shortcut where a variable has already been selected, gives the same error).

I've tried updating both the app (I'm not sure which version I was on, but usually I update quite regularly) and the devices itself, but the error persists. I've also tried deleting all HA shortcuts, and deleting the HA app on both devices, restarting both devices and re-installing the HA companion app.

Seems it's not device specific, as both my iPad and iPhone have been behaving the same way.
It seems connected to the new iOS, though I'm unable to downgrade to test this.

I tried it on my macbook by installing the HA companion app there, and I was able to select the service once, but after that it just froze when selecting a service. Though it doesn't seem to give an error message.
