jupyter-collaboration on zero-to-jupyterhub on kubernetes (z2jh on k8s)

Hi! Is it possible to use jupyter-collaboration to have presence indicators and collab mode when running zero-to-jupyterhub on Kubernetes (z2jh on k8s)? Basically there is a kubernetes pod for the hub and each user has their own pod with their own kernels but they access shared files via NFS.
