Can't get Gotek to work in MS-DOS

Hi. I hope someone can help me with this. The Gotek FlashFloppy works perfectly fine in Windows (98 SE), but I can't seem to get it to work in MS-DOS (7.1). At the command prompt, I'll type in the drive letter (B in this case), the green light comes on, but it says there's no device and lists Abort, Retry and Fail. It's on the selected image, too. I've also set the host and interface in FF.CFG to ms-dos and ibmpc, respectively. This is also what the jumpers are set to:

I also have the latest firmware installed - 3.44.

Move that top jumper in the photo (it's a spare) to position JC. Remove FF.CFG from your USB drive. Clear any cached config by pressing both buttons (or the rotary encoder) for several seconds while no USB drive is inserted, until the display changes to RST or "Reset Flash Configuration".

Brilliant! This worked perfectly. Thank you. :D Only slight problem I have now, since updating the firmware, that if I do a factory reset, the display goes upside down. Though that can be fixed in FF.CFG.

Yes the shipped firmware in those units has display-type=oled-128x64-rotate as a factory default. Whereas downloadable updates have display-type=auto and hence you will get an upside-down display utilising only every other row of your OLED display.

@keirf Hi. Quick question: if I have a physical floppy drive installed at the same time as the Gotek, do I need to set the jumper to something else? For some reason Windows wasn't detecting the Gotek after the physical floppy drive was installed. And the physical doesn't have its own jumper. Thanks.

All pc drives are ds1 so shouldn't need to change. Drive a Vs b is discriminated by the twist in the floppy cable. Your cable does have a twist?

Well it did. But when I disconnected it, part of it fell apart. XD The housing broke off and the ribbons detached. So I need to order a few more.

I seem to have another issue. I've just reformatted the PC again to fix some other weird issue and now the device isn't being recognised at properly. Not on boot or in Windows. :-\ The jumpers are set the same still. I also tried factory resetting it. I've disconnected the physical floppy drive for the moment as I have to switch between the physical and Gotek until I get my replacement dual cable. Setting either drive A or B doesn't appear to get it working. I mean, the LCD screen comes on, and I'm able to scroll through the images, but usually when it does the floppy seek the green light comes on, but I just don't get anything.
