What specific version(s) of X-Copy have you tested, and what are the shareware programs that also do not work? What jumpers at the rear of the Gotek? Is there any FF.CFG file specified? |

Using the latest release version of FlashFloppy, I am able to copy ADF files from my Gotek as DF1: to a blank disk in DF0: to create real disks. Now I want to be able to do the reverse... take an Amiga disk in DF0: and copy it onto an ADF image in the Gotek as DF1:
Following examples posted on other sources, dated mainly 4 to 6 years ago at the latest, people have said it was possible to go from a real floppy to the Gotek mounted image with X-Copy using the DOSCOPY+ option in X-Copy.
Unfortunately, X-Copy does not seem to recognize the mounted Gotek drive/image on my setup. I get a "No disk detected in DF1:" I can do a drag-and-drop copy from DF0: to DF1: Gotek on Workbench, and it works without any hardware changes on any AmigaDOS disk. However, to copy non-AmigaDOS disks, I need to use a tool like X-Copy since Workbench will not recognize a Non-AmigaDOS disk for drag-and-drop copying.
I already double-checked my jumpers, and they're configured properly as a Schugart drive, and the Gotek operates fully as expected as an Amiga drive. X-Copy seems to have issues with it, along with a few other shareware copy programs I've tried.
I don't know what version(s) of FlashFloppy others used back in 2020 or so, as indicated by the known working setup, but I'm wondering if a feature was changed or modified in more recent releases that broke that functionality. It seems like X-Copy is looking for a specific state of the drive, and it's not getting it. I don't know if it's polling the drive in some way or it's looking at hardware signals. All I know is it's doing something to detect a disk to write to, but it's not finding evidence of a drive being there.
