+Marfred Barrera is a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at UC Berkeley. He graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UC San Diego in 2025 where he worked on marine robotics, safety, and estimation. His current research interests lie in optimal control, estimation, multi-agent robotics, and how they may interact to create safe autonomous systems. His PhD is funded by a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship (NSF GRFP).
