Error Installing EGT

Hello,

In my Linux home directory, I ran the following command:
git clone --recursive https://github.com/linux4sam/egt.git

Then I navigated into the cloned repository:
cd egt

After that, I tried to follow your guide by running:
./autogen.sh
./configure

However, this fails because the files autogen.sh and configure.ac are not present in the egt folder.

Hi,

autotools support has been removed in 1.12 as we moved to cmake, which was already in place. However, we forgot to update the README.md file accordingly, sorry for that.

Therefore, the new commands are:

1 - If you still want to use make

$ mkdir -p <build_dir>
$ cmake -B <build_dir> -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=<build_type>
$ make -C <build_dir> -j $(nproc)
$ sudo make -C <build_dir> -j $(nproc) install

By default, the install prefix is "/usr/local" unless you added the "-DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=" option on the cmake command

For instance:

$ mkdir -p build
$ cmake -B build -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Debug
$ make -C bulid -j $(nproc)
$ sudo make -C build -j $(nproc) install

2 - If you want to switch to ninja (faster than make)

$ mkdir -p <build_dir>
$ cmake -B <build_dir> -G Ninja -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=<build_type>
$ ninja -C <build_dir> -j $(nproc)
$ sudo ninja -C <build_dir> -j $(nproc) install

ninja has mainly the same syntax as make but builds faster.

For instance:

$ mkdir -p build
$ cmake -B build -G Ninja -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release
$ ninja -C build -j $(nproc)
$ sudo ninja -C build -j $(nproc) install
