white screen

i have the latest version of Linux mint cinnamon installed on an apple mac pro laptop. and i keep getting a white background that shows up. you can clearly see that its over laid over the wall paper and under the desk top icons. what can i do to fix this. other than that issue, Linux appears to work fine. what can i do? thanks

Not sure what this has to do with mintupdate, but have you checked your background settings and made sure you have the correct settings? I've also seen cases where a theme can color the desktop window and cause this. Are you using a custom gtk theme? You are probably better off bringing this up on the Mint forums where you would get more troubleshooting help.
