In the October 2025 release, sometimes if I'm in the middle of making edits in Agent mode and I close the side chat panel using Ctrl+Alt+b, when I reopen it there is no chat history shown.

If I attempt to bring it back by clicking on the chat history button, it says:

Switching chats will end your current edit session. Do you want to keep pending edits to 1 files?

Restarting VS Code will bring back the history.

This is similar to #274767, but arguably worse because it will happen during an existing VS Code instance, not just when starting a new VS Code instance.

This doesn't happen all the time. I'll continue to monitor this to try to see what makes it happen.
