History missing after VS Code extension update

What steps can reproduce the bug?

After updating to version 04.10, history tasks are missing.

What is the expected behavior?

Not to have history files disappear after an extension update.

What do you see instead?

History has disappeared after the extension update.

Additional information

The files are in .codex\sessions... but the extension is not reading them, due to a format change. This issue was mentioned in #3762, which was closed with 'sorry for the disturbance'. Since the files are still available, and you did not provide any warning prior to the update, I think it is reasonable to expect you to convert the existing files to the new format to make them accessible. I would like to request that you do so.

+1 Currently on pre-release version 0.5.11. I noticed this issue after updating to 0.5.7, since then it hasn’t been able to retrieve old history

It's not about it not happening again. It's about fixing the mistake you made. You lost everyone's work and are now just turning your back and walking away. You know what the old format is. The files are still there. It would be trivial for you to import them into the new format.
