[Root on ZFS] [Arch Linux] When booting, zfs hook cannot pick up rpool with error such as "cannot import '(null)': no such pool available"

The full messages from the hook are:

And then kernel crashes.
Additional info:
ZFS: 2.3.4
Kernel: 6.12.53-1-lts
I have done all the setup: mkinitcpio, grub-install, grub-mkconfig, and done them multiple times by now, and I can easily import rpool from arch install iso with zfs modules compiled (same version of zfs in there)
As well I have regenerated all the /etc/zfs/zfs-list.cache files for bpool and rpool, and fixed them up by removing /mnt in my case
From the message I guess, that the problem is with malformed cache file in the init image, but how to make this work as intended, idfk...

The solution was adding zfs_import_dir=/dev/ into kernel parameters.
I still don't really know why it didn't work before: all my other Root on ZFS setups didn't have such an issue, but what did happen this time that threw ZFS off? And it still is my question. But this issue is solved for now
