Using Bun sql driver with Prisma

Is there any way to elect the Bun sql driver for use with Prisma? Is this even worthwhile considering?

Hi,
I wrote a database adapter for Prisma that uses Bun's native SQL driver. It supports PostgreSQL, MySQL and SQLite.
It's very easy to use:

import { PrismaClient } from "@prisma/client";
import { BunPostgresAdapter } from "prisma-bun-adapter";

const adapter = new BunPostgresAdapter({
  connectionString: process.env.DATABASE_URL!,
  maxConnections: 20,

For anyone looking for a working Prisma 7 adapter on Bun: I built prisma-adapter-bun-sqlite, which is fully compatible with Prisma 7 and built on top of Bun’s native sqlite engine.

The adapter mentioned above (@abcx3) does not seem to be production-ready according to tests I ran. Foreign keys are disabled, error codes aren't mapped to Prisma codes, and many Prisma features won't work (relations, transactions, aggregations, connection reservation).

Key points about prisma-adapter-bun-sqlite:

• Uses bun:sqlite directly (no async Bun.SQL layer)
• Full Prisma 7 support, all features tested
• Shadow database support
• Programmatic migration support
• Works with prisma migrate and standalone binaries
• Passes a comprehensive test suite of Prisma features and behaviors
• WAL mode and proper SQLite pragmas for safe concurrency
• No native binaries or Node dependencies
• Fast in real disk benchmarks, about 2x faster than libsql (the only alternative, as better-sqlite3 doesn't work with Bun)
