What's up with version 3 / versioning? #3817
Description
Folks prettier 3 is over 2 years old, but this extension is stuck on 2.8.
At some point the bandaid should be ripped off.
Most people will either:
- Be new, and benefit from the new version
- Working on projects with locked installed prettier version, and won't notice
- Will have some old side project they open and notice a change in formatting, for the better - this might surprise them, but change is life.
Let's get this upgrade.
The workaround is to install prettier globally via npm or bun and point your IDE at the global installation, but that's onerous tbh, and means I have to manually update it, do this on every computer, etc.
