Fully recognizes my touchpad device, but doesn't work properly

MacOS Version: 15.1.1

The software correctly recognizes the Mac's built-in touchpad and Magic TrackPad, but once either pointer is assigned, this assigned pointer doesn't work, i.e., the pointer is out of control and cannot be moved.
