My GitHub account was temporarily suspended for review, and during that time, my original discussion post was unfortunately removed. But I’m back now (yay!) and reposting everything in one place for your feedback. Thank you again for your patience and support!

🌟 Proposal Overview

As part of the PyLadiesCon project for GSoC 2025, I aim to create a configurable frontend theme that is visually appealing, accessible, and easy to maintain. The goal is to offer a theme where colors, fonts, and design elements can be modified through a non-complex CSS file.

The current conference website provides a great foundation, and my proposal focuses on enhancing usability, adding design flair, and ensuring future flexibility with minimal code rewrites.

🎨 Project Information

Observations on Current Site:

• Colors are very basic
• Footer design is missing/misaligned
• Navigation could be more intuitive

Proposed Enhancements:

• A light feminine theme with soft pink, white, and red highlights (to keep the vibe warm and inclusive)
• Unified header and footer designs
• css file to make color/font tweaks quick and centralized
• Accessibility checked with WAVE tool
• Buttons and links improved for better interactivity
• Logo appears in the browser title bar
• Soft animations on page load for subtle visual appeal
• New icons/images for contact, sponsors, and news sections

Tools/Tech:

• Pure HTML + CSS (minimal JS)
• Configurable via CSS file
• Responsive and accessible layout design

📆 Weekly Timeline (Estimated ~3 weeks)

Week 1:

• Finalize theme colors, fonts, and structure
• Set up a non-complex stylesheet
• Build homepage layout (header, footer, hero section)

Week 2:

• Build other page templates (About, Contact, Sponsors, News)
• Add animation and responsiveness
• Accessibility testing and refinement

Week 3:

• User testing and design tweaks
• Documentation on how to change themes/configurations
• Final review and polishing
• Submit for evaluation
