I like the approach. Thanks for putting so much work into it! About the indirect effects: That's great and will probably reduce specification errors. I posted a while ago an extension of x.boot that (hopefully) automatically identifies and calculates all indirect effects: https://groups.google.com/g/lavaan/c/0RSsh4M6zQg/m/V2zKKV7FAwAJ A bit like Amos, but not limited to x->m->y. The extension is computationally intensive and not efficient. i haven't had the time or inclination to program a better solution yet. But maybe the two approaches can be combined? I don't know what that would look like exactly. It's just an idea.
