Hey there! I found your wonderful repo on a Benn Jordan YT video yesterday and was super impressed with the results you achieved. I felt so inspired by it I wanted to see about getting it running in Reaper as a tweakable JSFX. Im extremely happy with the results so far and just wanted to let you know I was working on this and how much I appreciate what you have done!
What it does:
- Select your target and source tracks in Reaper.
- Run matchering_reascript.py (Make sure your python env is all setup in Reaper)
- The script gives you a choice: either run Matchering as is and plop the new file into a new track, OR capture the FIR coefficients and load them into the matcherinng JSFX plugin
- This plugin has some EQ tweaking capability and a FET compressor, make up gain and limiter option on the output.
- Because presets can not handle looking at other jsons (i think?), every time you run this it will save a new "plugin" for that profile, usernamed.
So far its working! I had to do some weird stuff to counteract the loudness additions in Matchering. Still testing but as a Reaper-only alternative to some of the bigger name AI based mastering plugins, it is pretty dang great. Ive been recording my whole life and have heard it all. In fact the whole process went so smoothly I ended up making a bunch of JSFXs, and they can all be found here:
https://github.com/LMSBAND/LMS
tape delay and saturation, vintage channel strip, passive eqs... lots of stuff!
