Option to force Wallpaper refresh on start/coming out of sleep/hibernation

As the background sometimes reverts to a black background after coming out of sleep, it would be great to have the app to automatically refresh the wallpaper when coming out of sleep/hibernation and after power on/restart.

As an initial workaround to make this scenario easier, maybe move the Refresh Wallpaper context option on the tray to being at the top level.

@TheAndyMac WDD already attempts to detect when PC resumes from sleep, but it seems the method being used isn't always reliable. There is also a background timer that runs every 60 seconds to make sure the wallpaper isn't out of date.

I've switched to a more reliable approach and moved the Refresh Wallpaper menu item. Please try this build of WDD: https://github.com/t1m0thyj/WinDynamicDesktop/actions/runs/17350024387

Ok, trying the MSIX x64 build (as currently have the store installed version, so assume this is the best option) on the machine where I have seen this most. Unfortunately, this comes back with a certificate error - and even with Developer Mode switched on, it refuses to allow installation of this MSIX.

Unfortunately dev builds of the Store app are difficult to test without me joining Microsoft Store's official beta testing program.

I believe you'd either need to install this self-signed certificate on your machine, or try the portable EXE build instead.

There is an issue with the detection of power events that I added, it's not any more reliable yet. Looking into it.

After 2 weeks - still sometimes not refreshing on one specific PC (Intel Arc-based, in case the GPU/driver may be a factor), but definitely more reliable than previously - and the easier access to refresh makes this overall a much better experience. Thanks.

Happy to close this specific issue as improved and mitigated - or can leave it open if you still have work/ideas you were planning to improve it further in the future.

Hi, not sure if I replied to this (apologies if repeating myself). This is definitely better, although not 100% - and the context menu makes this easier anyway. Is this going to go "gold" and come through the Store update at some point soon?
