Invalid syntax

Dear Friend,
i am from Brazil and new to cyberskills. I have tried to test your slash but my Mac always tell me:
"SyntaxError: invalid syntax
sh-3.2# python slash.py jolusca

SyntaxError: invalid syntax"
what could be my mistake?

Hello, nice to meet you , other people also asked me this question.
There is actually one case : You use old python version. Try to download python from python.org and use python not :
python2 , python3 etc.
This might solve this.
