I find the icons available by default when creating doc types are limited (version 16)

I know I can add more icons, but I just find the current out of the box set quite restrictive.

Specifically I struggled to find a suitable icon for almost every basic doctype I made recently for a brochure build.

This included finding icons for:

• button (i ended up going with rectangle)
• banner (couldn't find anything)
• rich text (i ended up going with book)
• page (i ended up going with document)

Hi @Superhands89 I love that you are being vocal on this, I would love to get the input on what icons you find missing.

We use icons from lucide.dev
Would be lovely if you could stroll through that to find the icons you think would be useful for general projects, (like the requests you listed above)

If you are very handy, you can run Storybook from this branch, which lists all Lucide icons and marks the once we already have in the CMS.

Maybe the limitation comes from Lucide itself.. I struggle to find an icon for a button or a banner in the entire Lucide library :D

You can always download specific SVG icons and register these from Lucide icons (consider to adjust stroke to 1.75 to align with Umbraco core icons and add a prefix to not collide with core icons). The core icons should all start with icon- IIRC.

I didn't know Umbicosaurus ever existed, yeah hopefully something like that can be added in the future. At the moment i feel like a human-thesaurus when looking for icons :D
