Missing v7/v8 API documentation

I appreciate that v7 and v8 have reached EOL but there are still working sites that need maintenance and occasional extending.

The documentation site links to https://our.umbraco.com/apidocs/v7/csharp/ and https://our.umbraco.com/apidocs/v8/csharp/ respectively, to the C# API, both fail.

Similarly the links to https://our.umbraco.com/apidocs/v7/ui/ and https://our.umbraco.com/apidocs/v8/ui/ for the back-office API both fail.

Has the API documentation been actively removed? or is this just a bad link on the site?

The old API documentation for Umbraco 7 and 8 is no longer available. Since those versions have reached end-of-life (EOL), the hosted API references are no longer maintained.

That said, there are still a few good options if you need to work with Umbraco 7 or 8 sites:

• The API docs are still accessible via the Internet Archive:

  • Umbraco 7 C# API docs (archived)
  • Umbraco 8 C# API docs (archived)

• Source code: The full source for both versions remains available on GitHub. You can browse or download the tagged release you’re working with, e.g.:

  • Umbraco v7 source
  • Umbraco v8 source

• Explore APIs locally: XML docs and IntelliSense are included in the NuGet packages/source, so you can browse classes, methods, and properties directly in Visual Studio (or your IDE of choice).
