Among the expectations for those involved in addressing incidents should be impartiality and due process:
- The chair, ombuds, Team member, or other person attempting resolution should not assume or act with bias towards anyone involved in the dispute.
- The resolver should investigate both sides of a dispute and the context in which it occurs.
- The investigation should give an opportunity to each person involved in the incident to explain their side of the story and correct the record, prior to making any judgements about the situation.
- Any disciplinary measures should be appropriate to addressing the problem, and proportional to its impact.
