Monitor learned brightness curve sync mode #4778

I plan to add this: #1393. The way this should work does not involve self-learning, but a way to adjust the brightness min/max for each display and the adjust the brightness curves. An user should be able to hold SHIFT (or some other modifier keys) when adjusting the brightness slider of a synced display which would skew the curve for the given display relative to the standardized nits scale among displays - this way the user will be able to manually calibrate the displays. I don't plan to add an auto-learning/adaptive syncing solution like Lunar (although I am not entirely sure how it works as I did not try that particular feature). Replicating an other app's key feature just for the sake of it would feel wrong and I really don't want to undercut Lunar like that – it's a great app and its dev put a lot of effort into it (also: we cooperate on things from time to time so it would feel weird to just copy something like that). About the UI: it's a matter of personal preference - some think BD is super complicated and confusing and like Lunar's straightforward interface better. Others think it's the other way around and like BD better. Both viewpoints are valid. :) The two apps can actually work together - you can use Lunar for brightness+syncing and BD for other stuff (just don't forget to disable brightness control in BD or turn off color table adjustments for compatibility). |

I know there are some issues addressing this from 2023 and before. In the 2023 issue it is discussed that Lunar Pro does not work as expected. I believe that is different now - it works for me, it was just complicated to figure out, and I could stop using lunar if BetterDisplay(a better app in every other measurable way) had this feature.
I have three screens, but use one of my external monitors as my main screen. Here is the Lunar workflow:
The thing is, BetterDisplay is a nicer product in every other way. It has a more sensible organization and workflow. It shines at resolution control. It has a better GUI. It is all-around less confusing to use. it took me a while to even understand how to make Lunar do what it was designed to do, and I am a dev myself.
I own both products, but because the brightness sync is so convenient, and I don't want to run a bunch of background apps - especially ones that might fight each other at times, I only keep Lunar running.
It would be fantastic if BetterDisplay had a 'learning' brightness sync like this - I'd never launch Lunar again!
Thank you.
