Mobile support

Will there ever be a android support? This is a very good library and if it did support mobile then it would be phenomenal to say the least. It is such a shame to have limits over good stuff like webui.

My workaround has been to run it with multiple connections and just use the browser of the mobile device to connect to it that way. Of course, that is limited to local wifi connections, but I don't think that there will ever be a mobile first build, but I could be wrong. I just know enough to cause damage.

Thank you @milmil7. Honestly, I don't know what scenario you can run webui in a mobile environment, I mean Android/iOS already provide a rich and wide APIs and solutions to create UI and communicate with background app.

What about going thru webview on mobile? I think a lot of those internet based apps just wrap webview around it? Would there be a way to do that with webui, since it already does desktop webview? Although this could just be where I know enough to cause damage is coming in.

the benefit is that the code will be cross-platform to android/ios, so that any code working in Windows, will later work on iOS/Android automatically, with minimum or none modification.

Hello @AlbertShown and thank you guys for responding. In my case it is about productivity. You see, when talking about alternatives that use web technology for fronend in both desktop and mobile, there is tauri and there is capacitor. Tauri is awesome and has real great devs contributing to the community but limits the usage of rust only for backend. I use rust but i dont do web backend. Im into making app that are local. So meaning that http only usage is not my use case. Whucb makes it hard to only use rust. Rust is quite moredifficult than any other low level lang. Capacitor on tge other hand is javascript only and is not quite the language for backend. In webui you can use any language in backend which is so awesome tgat i cant express enough. If there was a support for mobile too then it would win in any comparison over other libraries and frameworks and zig would have much more atrention thus making it popular. Electron and react native have already lost. Tauri is in rise. Tauri uses mobiles webview to make it possible for mobile development. I think you guys can too. As a tauri dev myself, if webui had mobile support, i would not hesitate to switch to it and woukd encourage others to do so. Mobile development is in more demand than desktop and it would make webui an awesome choice to say the least.

Going through solutions that are not potentially what a library is for is not what every dev can go through as there are other libraries that can do without a hassle with much less limitations. The knightly sword that you cause damage with is not owned by every dev like me myself. It makes me happy to see devs knowleged enough like you to hack through the limitations. I wish we had more trouble makers like you @wwderw
