Hi @brianwobbly! I'm Dosu and I’m helping the desktop team. This behavior—where dragging a closed pinned tab causes it to open—doesn't appear to be an intended feature or a documented bug in Zen. It's likely a side effect of how tab management and drag-and-drop are currently implemented, and there isn't a setting or workaround available to prevent it right now based on existing discussions and issues [1] [2]. Some related usability issues with pinned tabs (like accidental closure or unpinning) have workarounds such as keyboard shortcuts (Cmd+Shift+T) or CSS tweaks, but nothing directly addresses this drag-to-open behavior [3]. If you want more technical details on how this might be handled in the codebase or ideas for a workaround, let me know! To reply, just mention @dosu. How did I do? I love Zen, but there's been one issue that's bothered me ever since I switched...
Pinned tabs open while dragging them if they're closed.
This was annoying while setting up my spaces. I had a bunch of tabs to close after dragging them in to folders.
