Followed the approach recommended in #968. Since this is only used in one spot, I didn't bother doing anything more elaborate than just replacing the
PROJECT_IS_TOP_LEVELwithCMAKE_CURRENT_LIST_DIR STREQUAL PROJECT_SOURCE_DIR.
