Split off the non-bazel changes from: #507

Currently, the same test suite name is used for every test, which doesn't look great in most CI systems that parse junit.xml files.

Summary of Changes

Hello @vinnybod, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request enhances the container-structure-test tool by enabling users to define a custom name for the JUnit test suite generated in the junit.xml output. This addresses a common issue in CI systems where a generic suite name can make test result parsing and reporting less intuitive, thereby improving the clarity and integration of test results.

Highlights

  • Custom JUnit Suite Name: Introduced a new command-line flag --junit-suite-name to allow users to specify a custom name for the JUnit test suite in the output XML, improving readability in CI systems.
  • Parameter Propagation: Modified the ProcessResults and FinalResults functions to accept and utilize the new junitSuiteName parameter, ensuring the custom name is passed through the testing pipeline.
  • Default Name Handling: Added a helper function getJunitSuiteName to provide a default suite name (container-structure-test.test) if no custom name is explicitly provided via the command-line flag.

Code Review

This pull request introduces a new command-line flag to allow customizing the JUnit test suite name, which is a valuable addition for better CI/CD integration. The changes are logical and well-implemented. My review includes suggestions to improve maintainability by removing a duplicated hardcoded string and to enhance test coverage for the new functionality.
